Club Development Update

The showers and toilet blocks are now in the final fit-out stage. The accessibility toilet has been installed and will be back in use very soon. Final plumbing, painting, electrical and timber finishes will be applied in the coming 2-3 weeks.
The entrance to the Sports Arena has gotten a major face-lift with the repaired down pipes, cracked glazing replaced & plastering of the main entrance and stand reveal wall. Thanks to Willie O’Brien & team of O’Brien Building Solutions and Derek Conway for this great work.

Hopefully you have also noticed the installation of a bespoke hand-railing to the first floor, raised safety walls in stairwell & fire rated plasterboard stud wall installations on the first floor. Many thanks to Paul Begley for fabricating and installing the handrail & Robert MacNamara for painting.
Also a special mention to our club registrar and local councillor, Tony O’Brien, for securing the Clare County Council funding, without which these necessary safety improvements could not have been completed.

Next on the horizon for the development committee is the tarmac resurfacing and drainage works of the new car park, including widening the entrance bend for safety reasons.
Security works will also soon take place to ensure safe and controlled access to our Club facility. The installation of a key fob access system and installation of a small amount of external and internal CCTV cameras will happen imminently.
Unfortunately the current key-code system is not proving robust enough and a physical access system is now required.

There is a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes on a daily basis and we hope that club members can see and feel first-hand this progress. The plastered surface now allows us to finally erect the long-awaited appreciation-wall which so many of you have already supported.

If you haven’t, we are relaunching the appreciation wall via our Club Zap shop to the entire community for a final one-month period, and your support is massively appreciated. There are no after the fact, signs up planned, so get in now before the stone is cut!
