Dear members,
The Clare County board received 16,000 tickets in their allocation for the All Ireland Final. 2,000 of which were distributed to players, managements, officers, refs, coaches, sponsors etc.
Approx 450 were used by the County Board to fundraise to cover the costs of the All Ireland Weekend. The remaining ~13,500 codes for tickets have been distributed to the GAA Clubs of Clare.
The allocation we received was: Hogan Stand 44, Cusack 56, Davin 32, Hill16 95 tickets. Total received 227.
The County board have previously informed us Clubs allocations are determined by the number of Adult team a club has.
We received 365 entries into our members draw. 27 duplicates were deleted, leaving us with 338 valid entries.
Giving us a single ticket for 67% of members entered into the draw.
Over the last 5 years we have seen our membership grow significantly as per the below graph.
So the impossible task of trying to keep everyone happy with limited tickets begins.
If you can turn water into wine or paper into valid ticket master codes, now is the time to step forward and reveal yourself!
After much consideration, discussion (and anguish!) the executive committee have agreed to the following method of distribution:
- All coaches shall be entitled to 1 ticket. (~40)
- All referees shall be entitled to 1 ticket. (1)
- All Lotto/Development & Executive Committee members shall be entitled to 1 ticket. (34)
- 2 tickets will be used to raise fund for our outdoor astro turf project https://sobgaa.clubzap.com/products/20473/purchases/new
- All remaining tickets will be raffled randomly from the valid entries (~150)
While no system is perfect, this we feel is the fairest system we could come up with.
If you feel you can do better, please propose a motion for discussion and vote at the next AGM or join the executive committee. Your help would be appreciated!
The "draw" will takes place tonight the 11th in the Club Room from 7:30pm until approx 10pm. It will be conducted by Nicole Foley and I
It is a tedious process of assigning codes to excel spreadsheet rows and then sending out emails.
No drum or balls will be used, it will be a laptop screen shared on a TV screen for 2 hours plus.
The randomisation will be done using generative AI, which is just a fancy way of using a random number generator from Python Code.
We aim that the Codes and emails will be all sent out midnight tonight
If you are lucky enough to get a ticket, below are the links for each stand/section:
Links will go live Friday, 12th July, at 1pm, and will be valid until Tuesday 16th July at 1pm.
Please use the link as close to 1pm as possible on Friday July 12th to get best seat possible.
Yours on behalf of the executive committee, Patrick Aherne
